Wilbur Addison Smith (born January 9, 1933 in Broken Hill, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) is an author of adventure novels. When he was eight years old, his father gave him a .22 Remington rifle, which sparked Smith's lifelong love for firearms. He published his first novel, When the Lion Feeds in 1964. In May 2000, Smith married his second wife Mokhiniso Rakhimova.
