Not to be confused with Terence Hanbury White.
Theodore Harold White is an American journalist and Pulitzer Prize-winning non-fiction author of books on historical and political topics. He wrote four books, The Making of the President (1972, 1968,1964, 1960) which are about the US presidential elections of those years.
After graduating from Harvard, where he majored in Chinese, White received a one-year traveling fellowship and went to China. Mao was coming to power during that time. White wrote In Search of History, an account of what was happening in China during that period, like the government letting thousands starve to death while they held onto their store of food.
