L.J. Smith.

Lisa Jane Smith, better known as L. J. Smith, (born September 4, 1965) is the author of fantasy novels that have inspired two television series (The Vampire Diaries , The Secret Circle and The Night World (which has not been televised yet)) and been translated into over thirty-five languages.
