John Steinbeck in 1962.

John Steinbeck (February 27, 1902 - December 20, 1968) was an American author whose works include novels, short stories and works of non-fiction. Steinbeck won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962. He also won the Pulitzer Prize in 1940 for his novel The Grapes of Wrath. Many of his works have also been adapted as movies.
