Awarded annually since 1953 by the World Science Fiction Society's World Science Fiction Convention, the Hugo Awards recognize the best of science fiction as voted on by readers. Contrast these with the Nebula Awards, voted on by authors.
Some winners of the Hugo Award (in no particular order) include Constance Elaine Trimmer Willis, Kate Wilhelm, Mike Resnick, Robert Anson Heinlein, Ursula Kroeber Le Guin, and Poul Anderson.
