Guns, Germs and Steel: The Fates of Human Society (ISBN 0-393-03891-2) is a 1997 non-fiction book by Jared Diamond.
The book considers questions including: What shaped the cultures and forces of our time? Why did some countries become the first world and others the third world? Who has beaten whom and how could they do it?
The book won the Pulitzer Prize.
