I have seen Category:France placed in author articles. Which leads me to believe we are categorizing the authors by place/nationality, etc. I just wanted to be clear, we want "France" instead of "French"? Likewise with others (e.g. Egypt over Egyptian; Italy over Italian)? Nawfal 20:11, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
Removing copied categories[]
Didn't see this years ago when it was posted. I suspect that most of the categories Nawfal was seeing were ones that were in articles that were copied from Wikipedia. This is one reason we discourage wholesale copying from other sources -- even when they are licensed as cc-by-sa with attribution given -- copies tend to come with links, categories and content that is not relevant here. For the most part we have not been categorizing authors by their location or books and other works by the locations where their action is placed. Either is possible, but except for travel guides, I don't think that it's a key for this wiki. If others disagree, please feel free to post your opinion. -- CocoaZen 14:06, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
