Fiction is a very broad class or genre of Literature. Fiction is story telling, where the story didn't actually happen. The story may still be based on reality -- things that commonly happen or a set of things that have happened, but arranged to make a story. Fiction can also include elements that are not or even cannot be real -- a "what if" story, such as a story about how things would be different if the United States' American Revolution had not succeeded.
